The two islands Ko Lanta Noi (small) and Ko Lanta Yai (big) are
at the west coast of the malay peninsula in the Andaman Sea, about
120 km south-east of the famous Phang Nga Bay and about 60 km
south of Krabi-Town in the Krabi province.
Ko Lanta is very close to the mainland
(1 km only).
There are car-ferries operating daily, all year round, from
6:30 am until 10:00 pm, driving 15 min. from the mainland to Ko
Lanta Noi and another 5 min. from Ko Lanta Noi to Ko Lanta Yai.
Moreover, during high season (October - May) passenger ferries
from Krabi, Phi Phi Island and Phuket are running several times
a day.
Lanta Mountain House is located next to Ban Pra Ae, which is
a small village along a part of the Long Beach (Pra Ae Beach).
This is about 5 km south of Ban Saladan, where most of the visitors
arrive via ferry / bus / taxi from Krabi, Phi Phi Island, Phuket
or Trang.
From the main road there's a private road leading up to the beautiful
neighbourhood of Lanta Mountain House.
Supermarkets, restaurants, doctors, pharmacies and other facilities
are located nearby.
